How do people get to your location?

Most learning centres are able to supply a simple map - how many potential learners would be able to use it?

The majority of people have a car; car sharing often happens after a first class/workshop. Consider how you might anticipate putting people in touch about sharing transport.

Public transport – a few questions of importance to users:

Have you travelled to your learning centre by ‘bus, or train?

How far from the centre is the bus stop or station?

Does the stop have a local name that someone could ask for? The ‘Red Lion’ or ‘Tesco Garage’ etc.

Would someone have to cross a busy road to get to you? Is there a zebra crossing?

Make the journey yourself and note landmarks. Familiarise yourself with the route and it’s potential barriers. Find out the numbers of bus services on your route, this local knowledge will encourage people to attend your community/training centre.

Would an estimated ‘two minute’ walk be the same for everyone?

Is there a clear route from the accessible parking spaces to the entrance?

Try to anticipate what might facilitate someone making this journey.
