Summary:
Patchwork participants will present the results of focus group discussion as to the nature of empowerment, with particular regard to how an adult education setting can contribute to empowerment for professional adult returners from different cultural and racial backgrounds, including migrant workers and refugees. The workshop will look at both general and personal experiences of empowerment, providing an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Patchwork is an integrated project for refugees, migrant workers and women returners, who all have professional training backgrounds. It supports participant’s pathways flexibly with core modules such as I.C.T. updating, optional workshops in participant chosen subjects, mentoring support and careers advice and training.
